WoW Midnight — Tailoring & Enchanting Raider’s Guide

A raider’s guide to Tailoring and Enchanting in WoW Midnight: leveling both professions efficiently, spending Knowledge Points correctly, and crafting your own Spellthreads and weapon enchants before your second Heroic lockout.

Overview

Tailoring and Enchanting form one of the strongest raider pairs in WoW Midnight. Tailoring covers your Spellthread slot and produces cloth armor and bags, while Enchanting handles your weapon, rings, and bracers. At Gold quality, both contribute meaningful throughput gains across a full raid night.

This guide is written for a raider starting from zero in Midnight. Midnight uses only two quality tiers — Silver and Gold (Bronze is gone). Gold quality is the target; Silver is always better than nothing while you build KP.

Part I — Tailoring

Three trainers teach Midnight Tailoring. Learn from whichever is convenient for your current zone.

Trainer Zone Coordinates
Galana Silvermoon City /way #15969 48.2, 54.0
Sempstress Ambershine Silvermoon City /way #15969 73.3, 72.8
Kalika Zul'Aman /way #15947 38.6, 23.8

Cloth & Materials

Cloth drops from humanoid mobs throughout Midnight zones and does not come from gathering nodes. The Fabric Specialist specialization tree improves cloth yield and is worth early investment if you plan to self-supply.

Material Source Primary Use
Bright Linen Humanoid mobs, all zones Bolts, leveling recipes, basic bags
Imbued Bright Linen Crafted from Bright Linen (skill 25) Upgraded bolts, mid-tier recipes
Sunfire Silk Higher-level humanoids Spellthreads, bags, armor
Arcanoweave Knowledge-gated (Nimble Needlework tree) High-end crafts, Gold-quality armor

Arcanoweave and Sunfire Silk Bolts are produced on daily cooldowns unlocked through the Nimble Needlework specialization tree. Plan your progression around these cooldowns — they are the primary bottleneck for high-end tailoring output.

Skill 1–100

Tailoring levels are straightforward. Trainer recipes remain efficient through skill 60.

Skill Range Method
1–25 Bright Linen Bolt and trainer recipes
25–60 Trainer recipes with Imbued Bright Linen remain optimal
60–100 Higher-rarity materials (Sunfire Silk, Arcanoweave) or specialization-gated recipes

Wowhead notes Midnight Tailoring levels similarly to The War Within — it is one of the simplest primary professions to level. Don't overcomplicate the 1–60 phase.

Specialization Trees

Tailoring has four specialization trees requiring 660 total KP to fully max.

Tree KP Cost Focus
Sin'dorei Finery 300 Cloth armor crafting; unlocks Optional and Finishing Reagents on gear
Nimble Needlework 130 Arcanoweave and Sunfire Silk daily cooldowns; high-end bolt production
Fabric Specialist 80 Cloth gathering yield; profession stat bonuses
Fiber Arts 150 Secondary skills — Ingenuity, Resourcefulness, Crafting Speed, Multicraft

Spend order for raiders:

  1. Nimble Needlework — unlock the daily cooldown recipes first. Arcanoweave and Sunfire Silk Bolt production is your primary bottleneck. Get these running as early as possible.
  2. Sin'dorei Finery — unlocks cloth armor crafting across nine slots and enables Optional/Finishing Reagents for quality enhancement. Your path to Gold-quality output.
  3. Fabric Specialist — once cooldowns are running, improving cloth yield reduces your dependency on the Auction House.
  4. Fiber Arts — fill this last for ongoing crafting efficiency gains.

Self-Sharpening Sin'dorei Snippers Engineering Legendary (Fused Vitality ×20)
Thalassian Needle Set Blacksmithing Entry

Enchant: Apply Enchant Tool — Haranir Multicrafting (Enchanting-crafted) to your tool for multicraft procs on bulk cloth and bolt production.

Part II — Enchanting

Three trainers teach Midnight Enchanting. Learn immediately — Enchanting levels fastest through disenchanting, and you should be breaking down every green and blue you loot from day one.

Trainer Zone Coordinates
Dolothos Silvermoon City /way #15969 48.0, 53.8
Magistrix Eredania Silvermoon City /way #15969 72.9, 71.7
Rhys Duskfrost Quel'Thalas /way #15968 44.2, 46.2

Disenchanting & Materials

Every piece of gear you cannot use should be disenchanted, not vendored. The materials directly feed your own enchants and the crafted rods that gate your leveling. Three tiers of material, one per gear quality:

Material Source Primary Use
Eversinging Dust Disenchant green gear Leveling enchants, cheap scrolls
Radiant Shard Disenchant blue gear Mid-tier and weapon enchants
Dawn Crystal Disenchant purple/epic gear Gold-quality enchants; bottleneck material

Never vendor a blue. A Radiant Shard from a disenchanted blue is worth more than its vendor price the moment you need to craft your weapon enchant.

Shatter Essence is a learned technique that breaks a Radiant Shard down into Eversinging Dust — useful when Dust is your bottleneck and you have Shard surplus. Unlock it early; it removes one common mid-expansion pinch point.

Skill 1–100

The leveling path is simple: disenchant everything until crafting becomes necessary, then push through the final stretch with scrolls.

Skill Range Method Notes
1–67 Disenchant greens No crafting needed; accumulate all three materials
67–100 Craft enchant scrolls Costs Radiant Shards — have a stockpile ready

Disenchanting is far cheaper than crafting for most of the leveling path. Don't start spending Shards before skill 67.

Crafted Rods

Enchanters craft their own rods — unlike most professions, your tools come from your own recipes, not another crafter. These gate your progression, so craft each as soon as it's available.

Rod Skill Requirement Notes
Refulgent Copper Rod Skill 1 Craft immediately on learning the profession
Runed Brilliant Silver Rod Knowledge-gated Requires KP investment to unlock the recipe
Runed Dazzling Thorium Rod Skill 50 Your long-term tool; upgrade as soon as you hit 50

Tools & Profession Gear

Enchanters also use external tools provided by other professions.

Tool Crafter Notes
Enchanting Hats Tailoring Profession stat bonuses; Tailors craft these for Enchanters
Silvermoon Focusing Shard Jewelcrafting Entry-level external tool
Sin'dorei Enchanter's Crystal Jewelcrafting Upgraded external tool

Enchant: Apply Enchant Tool — Haranir Multicrafting to your rod — but note that Multicraft does not apply to Enchanting. The proc is wasted on this profession. Ingenuity and Resourcefulness do apply and are worth seeking on your tool.

Specialization Trees

Enchanting has four specialization trees requiring 650 total KP to fully max.

Tree KP Cost Focus
Spellbound Shatterer 120 Weapon enchants; Gold-quality weapon output
Disenchanting Delegate 120 Disenchanting yield; material efficiency from blues and purples
Transitories Tonics & Tools 140 Temporary enchants (mana oils), tool enchants
Elevating Equipment 270 Armor enchants — boots, chest, helm, rings, shoulders

Spend order for raiders:

  1. Spellbound Shatterer — your weapon enchant is the single highest-value enchant. Max this first.
  2. Elevating Equipment — unlocks and improves ring enchants (your next highest-impact slots). Two Gold-quality ring enchants is a meaningful passive stat gain.
  3. Disenchanting Delegate — once your weapon and rings are handled, improving material yield reduces your Shard dependency.
  4. Transitories Tonics & Tools — fill this last for mana oils and tool enchant access.

Recipe Overview

Category Key Products Notes
Weapon Enchants Permanent stat scrolls Highest-value output; Gold quality target
Armor Enchants Boots, chest, helm, rings ×2, shoulders Unlocked and improved via Elevating Equipment
Mana Oils Temporary weapon buffs From Transitories Tonics & Tools
Wands Crafted wands for casters Secondary product; consistent gold source
Crafted Rods Refulgent Copper, Runed Silver, Runed Thorium Self-use and crafting orders for other Enchanters
Tool Enchants Enchant Tool — Haranir Multicrafting Applied to Tailoring, Leatherworking, etc. tools

Enchant Priority for Raiders

Slot Target Quality
Weapon Gold
Ring × 2 Gold
Boots Silver minimum
Chest Silver minimum
Shoulders Silver minimum

Weapon and rings are non-negotiable at Gold. Don't hold your weapon slot empty waiting for Gold quality — Silver is a meaningful upgrade over nothing and can be replaced once your KP investment in Spellbound Shatterer makes Gold consistent.

How They Work Together

Tailoring and Enchanting have genuine material synergy:

  • Disenchant your failed Tailoring crafts — any Silver-quality Tailoring output (leveling bracers, belts, cloaks) disenchants into Eversinging Dust and Radiant Shards. Never vendor them.
  • Dawn Crystals feed weapon enchants — Enchanting needs them for Gold-quality weapon output. Prioritise disenchanting any purple drops over vendoring even if the gear itself is an upgrade you don't need.
  • Self-sufficiency by week two — between Fabric Specialist cloth yield and your own disenchanting supply, you should need the Auction House for almost nothing after the first week.

Weekly Checklist

Tailoring:

  • Run both daily cloth cooldowns (Arcanoweave Bolt, Sunfire Silk Bolt)
  • Complete the Tailoring weekly quest
  • Craft one Gold-quality item (2 KP)
  • Check Artisan's Moxie vendor (Lelorian) for new recipe unlocks

Enchanting:

  • Complete the Enchanting weekly quest
  • Disenchant all unwanted greens, blues, and purples
  • Craft one Gold-quality enchant (2 KP)
  • Restock weapon and ring enchants for guild crafting orders

Two-Week Plan

Week 1 — Foundation

Days 1–3: Level both professions to 50. Farm humanoid mobs in early Midnight zones for Bright Linen. Start Nimble Needlework to unlock daily cooldowns immediately. Disenchant everything that drops — greys and whites go to the vendor, everything else goes through Enchanting.

Days 4–7: Push Tailoring to 75, Enchanting to 67. Complete first weekly quests. Invest KP into Nimble Needlework (Tailoring) and Spellbound Shatterer (Enchanting). Craft the Runed Brilliant Silver Rod as soon as the recipe is available.

Week 2 — Raid Ready

Days 8–10: Reach skill 100 in both professions. You now have a week of daily bolt cooldowns banked. Craft the Runed Dazzling Thorium Rod at skill 50 if you haven't already.

Days 11–14: Craft your Spellthreads and armor with Concentration. Craft your weapon enchant and ring enchants. With KP investment in Spellbound Shatterer and Elevating Equipment, both should hit Gold quality. You are raid-ready.

Tips & Common Mistakes

  • Start your daily cooldowns on day one — Arcanoweave and Sunfire Silk Bolt daily cooldowns cannot be retroactively recovered. Missing the first day is a craft you cannot get back.
  • Disenchant Silver crafts, don't vendor them — every Silver bracer or belt from leveling is Eversinging Dust and Radiant Shards.
  • Craft your rods immediately — the Refulgent Copper Rod unlocks at skill 1. Craft it the moment you learn the profession. Each rod upgrade is gated, so don't delay.
  • Multicraft does not apply to Enchanting — don't apply Enchant Tool — Haranir Multicrafting to your Enchanting rod. It does nothing. Apply Ingenuity or Resourcefulness enchants instead.
  • Sin'dorei Finery unlocks reagent slots — once you can use Optional and Finishing Reagents on crafted armor, your Gold-quality consistency improves significantly. These drop from Delves and boss kills.
  • Silver enchants are not a failure — a Silver weapon enchant beats an empty slot. Don't wait for Gold on your first craft.
